ORCalifornia National Historic Trail
Various States, CA,CO,ID,KS,MO,NE,NV,OR,UT,WY - National Historic Trail - During the 1840's and 1850's the greatest mass migration in American history took place. Over 250 thousand people, farmers and gold seekers, move themselves and their families to the vast undeveloped west called California, The path they took led them through Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon, and California. Traces of the struggle, trail ruts from the past.
ORCrater Lake National Park
Crater Lake, OR - National Park - Crater Lake lies inside a caldera created when Mount Mazama (12,000 ft) collapsed 7,700 years ago after a large eruption. Located in Southern Oregon the park can be entered from the North or South. Be aware that the northern entrances are closed in the winter.

Northern entrance:
- from Roseburg take Route 138 east to the park's north entrance.
- from Bend take Route 97 south to Route 138, then west to the park's north entrance.

West entrance:
- from Medford take Route 62 north and east to the park's west entrance.

Southern entrance:
- Klamath Falls take Route 97 north to Route 62 north and west to the south entrance.

Eleven States: , ID,IL,IA,KS,MO,MT,NE,ND,OR,SD,WA - National Historic Trail - William Clark and Meriwether Lewis , two names that envision wilderness, expedition, and hardship.

That in May of 1804 they led thirty two men, a woman, and a baby, to the Pacific Ocean from the plains of the Midwest. They were in search of a water route to connect the west and provide passage for future settlers.

Their expedition took just under 29 months and covered eleven states. Over mountains, along rivers and through various climates. They encountered different Indian tribes, both friendly and not.
